CLASSIC & PURE

As a Shropshire newborn photographer I have recently developed my style of newborn photography further to offer a really simple and elegant set of baby photos. Classic, timeless and artistic where the baby is the total focus with very minimal use of ‘props’ or backdrops.

I wanted my images to show more than your baby in a pose. So I have chosen to specialise and develop a more natural and organic style of newborn photography.

As your baby truly is

This allows me to capture the baby as they truly are and create memories for you to enjoy for a lifetime to come.

Your photos will show you details like how your baby slept, moved and the little faces they’d pull. The way they scrunched up their fingers or stretched out with their arms above their head. Just them, as a newborn.

Unique details

These little details, which are so unique to every baby are also so beautiful to capture. The resulting images focus on the details of your baby with very simple textures as a backdrop and are styled in a neutral palette.

First precious days of life

Chloe Barlow, said: “We have seen the photos Catherine took of friends’ babies. I knew instantly that when my second child, a daughter, was born, I wanted to engage Catherine.

“We weren’t after millions of photos and weren’t bothered about props. I just wanted a set of classic photos, which represented my baby within the first precious days of her life.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Things here are a little different to your usual studio photography experience. Parents and babies can expect to relax as I look after your precious bundle and find beautiful, comfortable positions for your baby to be captured forever. As a Shropshire newborn photographer my specialist training allows me to offer you bespoke, experience in my specialist baby photography studio. I provide a quality, luxury service where the safety and comfort of your precious little one is never compromised.

First few weeks

Those first few days and weeks of your baby’s life are so precious and special. Tiny new feet, their silky soft skin, perfect in every way. This is the perfect time to capture them whilst they are still all curled up and sleepy. Your baby’s first photo shoot is recommended within the first 14 days. Babies are at their most tiny and sleepy so I can capture a stunning collection of images, you will cherish forever.

It might well feel like a bit of an effort to come for a photo shoot at such an early stage in your child’s life. But it is a time that is worth documenting and keeping forever. Coming to my studio will allow you some space and time to really relax and enjoy your baby– I promise!

My studio will be kept very warm so your baby can maintain its body temperature, even when in their precious birthday suit

Relaxed and calming

The shoot will be very relaxed and slow-paced, taking up to 3 plus hours. This is so we can consider your babies needs. We’ll stop for feeds, nappy changes, the chance to fall sound asleep and of course a cup of tea for mum and dad! Time is taken to get your baby into a deep, deep sleep before starting the shoot to enable those beautiful sleepy poses. The studio is fully equipped with professional lighting and gorgeous hand-picked, quality props. These include a specially-made comfy beanbag, a beautiful moon, natural baskets and much more. There is a lovely comfy sofa for you to relax on while I pose your baby. I will carefully plan and style your shoot to suit your little one, providing all blankets, outfits, headbands, hats and accessories. Your baby brings their best outfit of all – their birthday suit!

My studio

As a Shropshire newborn photographer, my studio is based in Shrewsbury, near to the hospital. It’s at my home and clients have found the experience very relaxing in what can feel like a bit of a whirlwind!

BOOKING

It is never too early to book, newborn sessions are best done before your baby is 14 days old. I will pencil your baby’s due date in my diary upon booking. But don’t worry! I know they arrive when they are ready and not before! This ensures I don’t overbook my schedule for the window when your baby is due. A session date is then set after delivery. The best time to make contact is after your 20 week scan.
